Junior Technical Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct GAP analysis for legal, food safety and customer standards - aligning Mansfield’s quality management system to requirements, including showing auditors and customers around the site and presenting files
• Undertake supplier/ contractor due diligence and ensuring compliance documentation is requested, filed and up to date
• Support the preparation for, and when required, lead customer/ marketing technical and quality visits/ audits and manage the day-to-day technical relationship with the customer technical team
• Maintain food safety, product integrity, quality management systems and specifications and support external audits e.g. BRC and customer audits
• Manage the microbiology and pesticide testing schedules
• Manage and report overall service levels, customer complaints and rejections including root cause analysis and providing corrective action plan completion
• Manage the document control system for the business
• Manage supplier/ contractor due diligence

Skills

Essential

• Experience in technical or quality assurance role within a food industry
• Food Safety Certification
• HACCP Level 2
• Understanding of general legal and customer requirements / standards within food production
• Team management experience
• Good computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, Outlook)
• Analytical and strategical thinking
• Good organisation skills and ability to prioritise workloads and juggle competing demands
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good team player within the whole business
• Problem solving

Desirable

• Previous experience in technical role in fruit commodities preferred
• Packhouse / packing environment understanding
• Lead / Internal Auditor Certification
• Retailers standards knowledge
