Pilgrims Hospices

Fishing is a sport that 17 million people in Britain currently enjoy and many people from local Canterbury businesses and their families cast their lines and do just that, all in aid of Pilgrims Hospices.

Paul Mansfield of local fruit grower, F.W. Mansfield and Son has opened his amply-stocked private fishing lake at Broad Oak for a sunny Sunday each year since 2011 and hosted this novel fundraising day. The mainly novice fishermen and women, some as young as 5years, are under the expert tutorage of colourful character and world-class freshwater champion “Rob the Fish”!

Participants are treated to breakfast, a hog roast lunch, fresh summer fruits from Mansfields farms and refreshments all day which we hope will help their concentration for catching the elusive “big fish”.

To date over £58,000 has been raised for Pilgrims Hospices, and this year we hope with your help we raise even more! More details on this exciting event to follow shortly!
